STYLE BLOGGERS GO GLOBAL!

Yes. The title is a dead giveaway of what I'm gonna post. (big telecom who organized the shoot, please don't shoot me).

We all know that once you're a blogger, you're global (Tricia Gosingtian anyone?)! Imagine the vast (internet) access of the whole world to your personal life. I'm sure Filipino Style Bloggers doesn't disappoint.

Last Wednesday night (Pedring's wake was still fresh), I invited myself (hah! invited myself!) to a shoot where my PR associate Bestie of the Capricious Club was part of. I'm not gonna spill the details of the said shoot being a good PR/Ad person that I am (who also understands the value of confidentiality and technicalities of the industry - humble much?). I'll just simply narrate what happened through the BTS pictures and captions that you are going to see below:

Disclaimer: The dialogues (as captions) in the following pictures is purely kathang isip lamang. This was created without the discretion of the bloggers involved and I hope they find it funny.

Intermission: We got to the studio at around 7:30pm (much thanks to the very detailed map direction to the studio). Bestie was the 4th (or 5th?) blogger to arrive at the set and here's what happened:
Lloyda: Andyan na si Bestie. As usual, late na naman. Palibhasa kasi she's working for PMP Communications who by the way is doing great in the advertising industry. (Connect sa late?) (Promote much?)
Pax: Oo nga! Palibhasa good looking yung boss nya, Hmp! (Connect ulit?)
Ava: Ah, talaga? (sweetly)
While they are talking,
Bestie: (In a sosyal kolehiyala accent) Really? I'm like the tallest in the group? Like duh? You're like kidding me... I hate you... Take my picture na.
Photog: Yes, you are. To be honest, THAT hair added 6 inches to your height on top of the 12 inches shoes that you're on. You are the tallest talaga.
Bestie: (Still in a sosyal kolehiyala accent) Alright na nga. Where should I place my hand? Sa hips? head? sa batok? Or me na lang kaya magtake ng picture ko. I'm used to doing that. Hello? I'm a style blogger kaya.
Meanwhile:
Lloyda: There she goes again. Hay... I'm so not gonna give her half of my shoe collection this Christmas. I have like a thousand pa naman.
Pax: Uy te, tayo na lang ang close!
Ava: Oo nga... tayo na lang ang close. Hihihi... (still being sweet)
-END-
(Before these lovely ladies will kill me)

More photos!
Bestie in her "ang ginaw but I'm a model" pose
Lloyda in blogger mode.
I'm sure the girls had a long day prior the shoot but these ladies are like energizer bunnies!
Lloyda's yaya in blogger mode as well. Lloyda, si yaya din ba kumukuha ng outfit shots mo?

Girls, to make up for the "teleserye" segment of this post, here are your outfit and closeup shots.
Ava of Artsy Fartsy Ava
Ava looks different without her glasses on. And by different, I mean nice.
Lloyda of Fashionista Fortune Cookie
Lloyda is one of those few (successful) women that I know of who is down to earth, is able to laugh at simple things, and she's not hard to please! Bring up her little bundle of joy in the middle of your conversation and she (her face) will light up like the sun! (Lloyda, need mo advertising agency? PR? events? pasponsor naman please. - sipsip much?)
Pax in her famous "ooops, (while smiling) may pupu sa floor" pose
Pax of Drowning Equilibriums
Pax offered to take my photos but she warned me that she's not that good. I thought, di ba blogger ka? stylish/stylist/style blogger at that pa? Anyway, I agree with her. No photo post of me here everyone! All thanks to Pax! (Love you! hehe)
And Bestie of The Capricious Club
Ah... ang sweet nyang tingnan. Di naman siya ganito sa office. Kidding! Hehe
That's it everyone! Ava, Lloyda, Pax, and Bestie, please feel free to grab anything you like (and unlike). No harsh comments please. Hehehe.

Have a great weekend everyone! Oh wait, this is me. Feeling the Face Hunter lang.

NIVEA & ETC/JACK PRESENTS: GLEEK SNEAK PEAK SEASON 3

I'm a fan of the show! Me being this frustrated wannabe artist (formerly) has singing as his fallback/backup career in mind. When NIVEA invited me and my team to watch the season premiere of Glee Season 3, NO is simply not an option. Who doesn't want free tickets and a chance to maybe see Charice again in the big screen? (also score some freebies? hehe)
See? I'm a fan! The music. Dianna Agron. And Sue Sylvester! (partly hidden, one of my big hobbies - Superman)
The premiere was held at Gateway Cinema (I forgot  which one). Getting there was not as stressful (Cubao traffic anyone?) as getting to Ortigas because my office is at West Ave. But the stressful thing is thinking that maybe the screening started already (You know how short TV episodes are right?) and that there are no more games & prizes waiting for us.

Arrived at Gtateway Cinemas figuring out which is which. Apparently, ETC and Jack TV got 3 Cinemas to hold their screening (talk about big time) but what identified OUR cinema are these:
NIVEA For Men Deo, NIVEA Visage - Layout: PMP Communications (Represent!)
NIVEA Body - Layout: PMP Communications (Promote much?)
The girl in white won the contest but nothing beats the confidence that girl in far left was projecting. NagNIVEA ka no?
Upon entering, we were given refreshments (which saved us the time and money to buy popcorns and sodas) - nachos, corndog, chicken fillet and a regular size soda. It sure is definitely a good sign. Started with free tickets then free refreshments then what? chance to win prizes in the pre-program games? Let's see...
Loved this shot. All hail NIVEA! All hail NIVEA! All hail NIVEA!
Much to the delight of everyone, NIVEA and ETC hosted 3 sets of games which lasted almost 30 minutes. The crowd went crazy when the host announced that the grand prize is a Flip video. Winning is not even a challenge! The game just involved a lot of elbow nudging, high jumps and tons of boos and ahhs- whew! who knew that catch the ball was THAT hard. NIVEA Giftpacks, Shirts and ETC Giftpacks were given away as minor prizes and lucky staff of mine was able to catch the ball for the ETC Giftpack.

Finally after the games, the show was about to start and I thought this will go down in my personal history. The shortest cinema screening I was about to experience. But surprise, surprise! The host announced that we will be watching the second season finale of Glee (New York episode) first before the premiere episode of the third season. That makes it 2 episodes in a row - more than an hour worth of screen time. Not bad eh? Sure its gonna feel like watching a full movie.
the "STARS"
Charice was welcomed with mixed reactions from the audience (even though this was aired already on TV and probably watched by the people who where there that night). What kind of reactions? Well let's just say that America has been treating Charice kindly... with lots of good food... resulting to a fuller figure. What can we do? Masarap kumain eh.
Even though Charice was nowhere to be found in the premiere episode of Glee's third season, she gave one of the most memorable performance in Glee's second season finale.

I would like to apologize for not being able to take screen shots of the premiere episode of Glee season 3. I got hooked! Can't help it. Fan here. Are we cool na? Anyway by the time i'll publish this, you're most likely was able to watch it on TV.
Event Host: LA Ferriols (she's smart! sexy and one of the best host I listened to and she blogs! Clothing Not Optional)
That girl in yellow (with that giddy look on her face) won the Flip Video. She's claiming her prize here

Thanks NIVEA! Here's to a hundred years more!

INSTANT MAKEOVER - HOME EDITION

You know that stigma of being a dentist while you yourself or your kids has bad set of teeth? Or an architect living in a decrepit house? Well same case here. Being in the advertising industry is all about coming up with grand (and effective) ideas for your client, creative executions for a certain brand and the list of endless possibilities just goes on and on... but while I dedicate my time doing all these things, the question still lies... Is my home, being owned by an ad man, worthy of an ad?

While "the" work has its own perks and advantage, it takes much of your time both in and out of the office and mind you, "busy" is an understatement. With so much busyness going around, I tend to neglect the things which can possibly dictate my happiness - the physical status of my home. Me being happy (which can produce better communication in the office BTW; who wants a grumpy boss anyway?) means clients happy. That is why I need an instant makeover! For my home that is.

WARNING: The following images that you will see is boring. So boring that you'll die just by looking at it.

Presenting...
Living Room A
Living Room B
You died? Hehe. Remember my Fully Booked visit? I told you I didn't go there just to buy magazines. I was looking for big stuffs for the house and by big stuffs I meant furnitures. Yeah, you guessed it right. Living Room A and B lacks furnitures and it's bare... as bare as the ladies on the covers of FHM.

So here are the AFTER's:
After: Living Room A - 4 piece Sofa Set Php24,950 less 5% = Php23,702.50
Got the first set at 5% off in Our Home at SM North The Block. And no, they're not on sale. They just made me (and the family) wait for the new stocks only to find out that they can't give it to us. The reason? They were pre-sold and the guy who handles these items was nagbabakasakali lang that he can give it to us. Talk about being a buwaya. Sheesh... Anyway, end of story is we got what's on display plus a 5% off. Not bad? Moving on...
After: Living Room B - 3 piece Sofa Set Php14,420 less 50% = Php7,210 ONLY!!!
The 2nd set was a no-brainer. We needed something not too bulky to occupy the space (Living Room B) and it has to complement the color of the marble floor and the piano. and its 50% off in Home Depot Balintawak! BTW, the piano is going to have a makeover as well. What do you think of white? Hmm... Ivory? Oh, well, more on that in the FP's.

And this is me being (and feeling) mighty! with purple:
Blued purple polo shirt, Human shorts (formerly pants), Bench leather watch,
Marks and Spencer purple socks, Lacoste ivory hi-tops
The buying got me in the mood of well... more buying! Let me show you some teasers of the "other" items.
Did I set a Christmas mood? Anyone?
Yes, the garden needs to have a Zen feel
Ayun oh! Blurred effect!
I just realized that Christmas is fast approaching and I need somewhere/something to place the lights on. Ang alamat ng mga halaman. Bow.

The Breakdown:
1st Sofa Set  Php23,702.50 (5% deducted)
2nd Sofa Set Php7,210 (50% deducted)
Plants Php12,000 (including gravel etc...)
Total: Php42,912.50

MORE SHOES = MORE SOCKS

I'm into shoes. For a guy, I have quiet more than enough! You'll see more of them (shoes) in my future posts. For the meantime, let me show you what I got from one of my favorite clothing brand of late, TOPMAN.
Topman printed socks (Php945/5 pairs)
Arranged according to like factor (from the right to the left)
I got hooked on socks when I've discovered how it gives an already good outfit that extra oomph (and I'm all about the oomph!) and also because of David Guison. He makes wearing socks (printed ones) cool and a pre-requisite when it comes to dressing up/down. I also got a gray v-neck shirt when I bought this set of socks in Topman Robinsons Galleria.
Topman gray v-neck shirt (Php545)
The Breakdown:
Topman Socks Php945
Topman V-Neck Shirt Php545
Total: 1,490

OF V NECKS, EXPENSIVE MAGAZINES AND HASH BROWNS GONE WRONG

So it was a Saturday and everyone in the household was planning to do the "usuals" - usuals like groceries, house cleaning and stuffs that can be done on a weekend. As for me, my usuals is anything that involves spending (if you are not familiar with me yet and I'm sure you're not, please check my ABOUT ME). Even though doing groceries has big amounts of spending involved, it's not really my thing so I opted to stay and visit the friendly neighborhood shops. And this is what happened:

First stop is Jollibee! It was 3:00pm already and I haven't had any lunch yet so first on my Saturday itinerary is FOOD. While everyone had their chicken joys, I ordered this new product the BEE is offering.
Jollibee Hash Brown Burger (Php 64 ala carte)
I never got the chance to finish the whole "burger" (maybe because I had a wing?) and the funny thing is I don't even know why. For a burger, it's quite filling and to think it's not even a Champ. I'd rather have this (if ever I'll buy it again) for breakfast. Separately - 2 hash browns on the side and burger patty on the other. With gravy. And coffee.

Next on my list is TOPS (The Off Price Store), Commonwealth Branch

Affordable shirts ranging from Php199 to Php399
Why I even bothered taking this shot? I was with my niece...
...and nephew!
I got this for my soon to be 1 year old nephew. I want him to be like his uncle. Pogi and Maporma.
And this is what I got:
TOPS striped v-neck shirts at Php 299 apiece
Before going home, I dropped  by at this newly opened Tea Shop and got something to quench my tea cravings. Is tea the new Starbucks? Looks like it.

Walked home after my tea break. Yes, walked. I live in Don Antonio Heights and these shops that I'm talking about are just a walk away. Before capping the day off, the family went to SM North EDSA and I bought magazines from my favorite bookstore Fully Booked and got the following:
(top to bottom: GQ, Vogue, Adobo Magazine)
GQ October 2011 issue; Cover: Leo Dicaprio (Php425)
Vogue October 2011 issue; Cover: Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe (Php599)
Seriously, for fear of being defensive (hehe), I buy this obsessive compulsively along with GQ. It has always been like that ever since I started collecting GQ. I'm just not used to bringing and paying for just 1 magazine at the counter anymore.
And finally, Adobo Magazine! This is where I get THE ideas. (Php180)
And that's how my Saturday was spent. By the way, buying magazines was not the only agenda why the family went to the mall. We were looking for some "big" stuffs for the house. More on that in my FP's*.

The Breakdown:
TOPS shirts(2) Php598
GQ (Mag) Php425
Vogue (Mag) Php599
Adobo (Mag) Php180
Total: Php1,802
