PFW HOLIDAY 2013 - PENSHOPPE

"We've always had an opinion on fashion and style and its connection to Filipinos. But this time, a much bolder move in bridging the gap between international and local fashion scene. A shirt is not just a shirt; it is a link to one's lifestyle. And being confident with that lifestyle is what matters, and this is where Penshoppe comes in, offering wide gamut of products with a global aesthetic." - Jeff Bascon, Penshoppe's Brand Director

I have a newfound respect to the brand. And with what you've presented at the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2013, Jeff, you did not disappoint. Congratulations!

Divided into three distinct segments, Penshoppe's Holiday 2013 collection featured carefully constructed garments and innovative designs that push the boundaries of modernity and freshness, and explores the dichotomy between tradition and novelty.

Opening the show was Camo Punk, a collection bursting with attitude.

Utilizing denim, flat knits, burnout jersey, leather, and coated twill for bottoms, the line-up boasts an edgy mix of pullovers, studded tees, and leather pieces, among others.

With bold prints and other embellishments in a color palette of black, gray, camo green, camel, indigo, and denim blue, the result is a worthy repertoire of utilitarian and camouflage must-haves for the everyday wearer.

Second in line was Modern Heritage, an attempt to return to the comforts of home, but with a fresh new take.

Inspired by rustic British country estates, it boasts a fantastic melange of prints and patterns in textured fabrics such as chambray, corduroy, and tweed.

Flaunting a medley of sweaters, winter shorts, floral and printed pants, loose tops, shirred skirts, and cropped cardigans in gray, brown, olive, berry, rust, and beige, the brand's second wave of style statements paid ample homage to femininity and masculinity, having achieved the quintessential amalgam of both.

Endowing the show with a strong finale was 21st Century Romance, an effortless luxe collection focusing on baroque elements, with rich dark hues in a variety of romantic silhouettes.

Lurex and knits in black, silver, gray, white, and gold took center stage in this segment as Penshoppe paraded an array of jackets, blazers, shirts, pullovers, and skinny jeans, all peppered with baroque details, geometric prints, and leather decor.

With its refreshing approach to its Holiday 2013 show, Penshoppe has successfully brought back to the style setters' consciousness the very heart and core of fashion, proving that great clothes need no flashes or frills to truly reign supreme.

"This is only the tip of the iceberg. Cooler things are yet to come from Penshoppe. We're going to have a stronger point of view when it comes to fashion and we're excited to share it with the rest of the world" Bascon concludes.

Penshoppe has over 300 branches in the Philippines, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
